Motown 2.0

Where Culture Meets Power.

Motown 2.0 is more than a vision—it’s a mission to reclaim Detroit’s cultural soul and reinvest in its people, block by block, brick by brick.

At the heart of this mission is the renovation of the historic Cooley High School, which will be reborn as the Detroit Cultural Center. This iconic building will no longer sit in silence. Instead, it will be transformed into a vibrant, multi-purpose hub designed to serve the people of Detroit across every spectrum of life.

The Detroit Cultural Center Will Feature:

  • A Full-Service Film Studio, open to all past and current Detroit residents. Whether you're a seasoned filmmaker or a young dreamer with a script and a vision, this space will offer the tools, training, and opportunities to tell your story and build a sustainable creative career.
  • A Free Health Clinic, built in partnership with University of Michigan, Wayne State University, and University of Detroit Mercy, delivering top-tier primary care to residents—no insurance required.
  • A State-of-the-Art Mental Health Outpatient Facility, because healing is just as vital as housing or jobs. Trauma runs deep in our communities—it’s time our services run deeper.
  • Office Space & Co-Working Hubs designed to support local entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and grassroots organizations, so Detroiters can build, launch, and grow right here at home.

This is just the beginning. We’ll work directly with DPSCD to acquire and repurpose other abandoned school buildings—transforming them into community centers, innovation labs, and training hubs. These spaces will belong to the people again—not developers, not speculators.

The Detroit Fabric District

The Detroit Fabric District will be our city’s new hub for textile innovation, garment design, and manufacturing entrepreneurship. Located near key East Side industrial corridors, the District will repurpose vacant buildings into fashion labs, sewing schools, and co-op retail space. It will serve as a pipeline for youth training, apparel startups, and streetwear designers to scale their craft and sell globally. The Fabric District honors Detroit’s legacy of hard work and style — and it ensures that the next wave of fashion will be built right here, by Detroiters, for the world.

The Motown Community Trust Fund: The Cornerstone of Our Revival

To fund and sustain these projects, we are launching the Motown Community Trust Fund (MCTF)—a first-of-its-kind public-private trust designed to create real revenue streams for the city without raising taxes.

MCTF will be powered by strategic investments in the financial markets, small business growth, and innovation, with profits directly reinvested into the community. No bureaucracy. No red tape. Just impact.

The Fund Will Support:

  • Housing Assistance: Home repairs, rent relief, and a new city-run program to renovate land bank properties—then sell them at-cost to long-time residents who are first-time homebuyers.
  • Pension Support: Supplementing pension obligations so our retirees are never shortchanged.
  • Education & Workforce Training: From financial literacy to advanced trading strategies, we’ll train the next generation of Detroit thinkers, builders, and creators.
  • Youth & Family Assistance: Grants for graduating students, newlyweds, and first-time parents—to reduce the economic pressure of starting adult life in the city.
  • Neighborhood Revitalization: Beautification, commercial upgrades, and the return of safe, clean public spaces.

A Trust Fund. For the People. By the People.

The Motown Community Trust Fund isn’t a campaign promise—it’s a generational play. This will be Detroit’s cornerstone for the next 50 years, ensuring we never again have to beg outside forces to save our city.

We’re not waiting on anyone. We’re building it ourselves.
